Ho-oh at Sakura Matsuri in DC
This was my first time at a Sakura Matsuri, and I have to say I enjoyed it. I will not just say its because I was EVER SO POPULAR all weekend. It was so hard moving about this weekend because of all of the photos left and right, and it was flattering. Especially when my costume was so memorable to the Miss America Pageant girls who were visiting that they actually waved us down later when we were on our way to our cars!
Ken of Yenra took some fantastic photographs and these were two of what he had posted. Hopefully there will be more later <3
Also, thank you to the follower that saw me this weekend. You made me feel amazing, and I wanted to thank you so much <3
Ho-oh received Honorable Mention at Katsucon 2012 Hall Costume Contest
I think I’m done submitting to contests with here. Four minor awards equals a major award to me!

Ohayocon 2012 - Ho-oh Photoshoot with Lionel Lum from Usagichan (Lionboogy)
Very very happy with this photoshoot. We got a lot of nice shots, but these were his favorites- as were mine. Whats really nice is the attention he got on my backside, and I have no real good shots of my tail. Super happy.
Ho-oh Park-con Shoot
Taken at the Green Acres park in Burlington, NJ. Octomobiki is a wonderful photographer :)
We had so much fun at around 5 pm when it was getting really dark…

I also had far too much fun climbing on that tree and scaring the shit out of everyone.
Ho-oh’s a Walkin
Walking away from ParkCon previous shoot, and it seemed Octomobiki was gonna have fun taking shots of me and my derp.
AnimeUSA Ho-oh Walk On - 54:39
Completely forgot to go looking for it. Talking to folks about cons and remembered to go looking for this.
It’s very funny when they tell us the rules on walk-ons and how to pose, and I go ‘Can I fly on stage?’
2011 Cosplay Review
Saw both my buddy Midnight Cosplay and Paigey do this, so I thought- why not! It’s fun to look back at this.
I have to say though, in the span of my four years of cosplaying, this was the craziest one of all. Not only did I really start making complex and intriquet cosplays, I made -a lot-. And three of them aren’t even included on this list (Chi-chi, Sailor Uranus, and Yzma) because they were mostly not self made or derpy!
Out of the five here, Ho-oh is my favorite. Out of all of my cosplays she is my favorite, not only for the compliments I get from con-goers who see her, but also from the fact that people appreciate the design I’ve done, whether they know of Pokémon or not. Sailor Iron Mouse was the most complicated wig I have ever done, and gave me a lesson on ‘how to pin items to your own body.’ Winter Blood Elf is very comfortable during the season, which is why I love her- and with her new corset I rock her harder than ever. Spirit Healer, although origionally retired after the first five hours of wear at AnimeNext was revived when I had the chance to photo shoot in a graveyard at WebcomicsCon, and decided after adding a body suit to the mix I was comfortable with wearing her again. And Mime was probably the most difficult out of the bunch with the heavy amount of detail sewn into the dress, instead of painted on like many others. I still have found no way to give me any ability to see out of that mask.
The best part of this year was my work being recognized in contests. Ho-oh has won two Judge’s Choices and an Honorable mention; Mime won Runner up Journeyman; and Sailor Iron Mouse won best of Craftsmanship, moving me from Journeyman class up to Craftsmanship.
Blood Elf Winter Attire: World of Warcraft
Ho-oh Gijinka: Pokémon
Spirit Healer: World of Warcraft
Mime: Final Fantasy Tactics
Sailor Iron Mouse: Sailor Moon- Sailor Stars
I am very excited for working hard the next year, especially knowing the level of detail I should be expected of what class I am in. So far my official todo list is GLaDOS Gijinka from Portal, joining the Cardcaptors Sakura group as The Little, (while also making my first commission for The Big), and aiming mostly to save up for Otakon to make Chani, a character from my favorite Sci-fi series, Dune.
I especially wish all the cosplayers a great new year, and hope to see your newest work soon!

Gah. I like these pictures a lot <3
Ho-oh Won an Honorable Mention at AnimeUSA 2011
But here is my baby Ho-oh sitting on the award for Sailor Iron Mouse
It fits <3
Idea and photo by Insane Cosplayer.
This weekend at AnimeUSA, when I was rushing to get up to my buddy’s Hentai VS Porn panel, I bumped into a small Hellsing group in the stairwell.
The Integra (and great Integra using her natural hair) pulled be aside a moment and said softly into my ear.
“Just wanted to let you know that you are wearing the most beautiful cosplay I have seen in this entire convention. You deserve that award and more.”
I was so utterly flattered. If I ever find that Integra I am going to give her one hell of a hug again. Forever.
Dedicated to my cosplay work, WIPS, and updates.
